What is Video Marketing?
Before we delve into the benefits, let's clarify what video marketing is. In essence, it involves creating and using videos to promote your brand, products, or services. These videos can be shared on various online platforms such as websites, social media, and even email marketing campaigns.
Visual Storytelling: In today's fast-paced world, people have shorter attention spans. Video marketing allows small businesses to convey their message quickly and effectively. It's the perfect medium for storytelling, captivating your audience and leaving a lasting impression.
Increased Engagement: Did you know that videos receive more engagement on social media than any other type of content? Small businesses can leverage this by creating engaging videos that connect with their audience on a personal level.
Improved SEO: Here's where the magic of SEO comes into play. By incorporating keywords like "video marketing" and "video marketing for Small Businesses" into your video titles, descriptions, and tags, you can significantly boost your website's search engine ranking. This means more visibility and organic traffic.
Cost-Effective: Contrary to popular belief, video marketing doesn't have to break the bank. With the right strategy and tools, small businesses can create high-quality videos without burning through their budget.
Measurable Results: One of the greatest advantages of video marketing is the ability to track its performance. You can monitor views, shares, and conversion rates, allowing you to fine-tune your strategy for optimal results.
Crafting Compelling Content
When it comes to video marketing for small businesses, content is king. Your videos should resonate with your target audience and address their pain points. Consider creating how-to videos, product demos, customer testimonials, or behind-the-scenes glimpses of your business. The goal is to provide value and establish trust.
Social Media Platforms
Harness the power of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube. These platforms offer excellent opportunities for small businesses to reach a wider audience. Use eye-catching thumbnails, engaging captions, and relevant hashtags to increase your video's visibility.
SEO Optimization
To ensure that your videos rank well on search engines, incorporate keywords strategically. In addition to "video marketing" and "video marketing for Small Businesses," use long-tail keywords that are specific to your industry and offerings. This will help you attract a more targeted audience.
Consistency is Key
Consistency in video production and posting schedules is vital. Create a content calendar to plan your video releases. Regular updates keep your audience engaged and encourage them to return for more.
Engage with Your Audience
Don't just post videos and forget about them. Engage with your audience by responding to comments and messages promptly. This not only builds a sense of community but also shows that you value your customers. Once businesses have great content, Boosted posts/paid advertising strategy are also important to ensure that the content gets seen both in general as well as by their target audience.
In conclusion, video marketing is a game-changer for small businesses. It offers a cost-effective way to engage with your target audience, boost your SEO ranking, and achieve measurable results. ]]>The Importance of Scripted Commercials in Modern Marketing: The Power of Video Marketing
In the era of information overload, capturing your audience's attention is becoming increasingly challenging. This is where scripted commercials come into play. Video marketing, in general, has proven to be highly effective in engaging viewers and conveying your message in a memorable way. According to recent statistics, 83% of businesses believe that video marketing provides a good return on investment (ROI).
The Scripted Commercial Advantage
Scripted commercials, in particular, offer several advantages over other forms of video marketing. They allow you to tap into a vast and diverse audience, including those who may not actively seek your product or service online. Scripted commercials also provide a sense of legitimacy and credibility, which can boost brand trust. Moreover, they offer a unique storytelling opportunity, enabling you to craft compelling narratives that resonate with your viewers.
Factors Influencing Scripted Commercial Costs: Understanding the Cost Components
When determining your budget for a scripted commercial, it's essential to break down the costs involved. Here are the key factors that influence the overall cost:
The length of your scripted commercial is a significant cost driver. Longer commercials require more production time, talent, and resources. Typically, commercials can range from 15 seconds to a full minute or more.
The production quality of your commercial also plays a crucial role. High-end productions with advanced cinematography, special effects, and professional actors will naturally cost more than simpler productions. Similarly, additional crew, lighting, and camera personnel as well as hiring talent to act in the commercial will raise the cost of production.
The choice of location can significantly impact costs. Filming on-site at your business may be more cost-effective than renting a unique location or studio.
Investing in a well-crafted script and storyboard is essential for a successful scripted commercial. These elements not only affect the quality of your commercial but also the overall cost.
Estimating Your Scripted Commercial Budget: Budgeting for Success
Now that you understand the factors influencing scripted commercial costs, let's delve into how to estimate your budget accurately.
Start by clarifying your objectives. What message do you want to convey? Who is your target audience? What action do you want viewers to take after seeing your commercial? Understanding your goals is fundamental.
Collaborating with experts like HEROIC MEDIA STUDIO is invaluable. Experienced professionals will guide you through the budgeting process, helping you make informed decisions that align with your goals.
Based on your objectives, work with your chosen production team to allocate your resources efficiently. Determine the ideal length, production quality, location, and other elements that suit your message and budget.
Budgeting for the production of the commercial largely depends on the complexity of the project - business owners should be prepared to budget anywhere from $10,000 to upwards of $100,000 for a major scripted commercial production - beyond the production of the commercial itself, businesses need to budget for the cost of advertising with their finished commercial! Without an advertising plan and budget, your fancy new commercial will not be seen by a large enough audience to yield the desired return on investment.
A huge factor for clients is also budgeting for paid advertising costs for each platform or even for a scripted network . How often and for what duration do you plan to have the commercial shown needs to be taken in account. Remember, it's not free to screen your commercial.
It's wise to set aside a portion of your budget for unexpected expenses. Murphy's Law applies in the world of scripted commercials, and having a contingency fund can save the day.
In conclusion, the budget for filming a scripted commercial can vary widely based on your goals, production quality, and other factors. HEROIC MEDIA STUDIO specializes in commercial and narrative cinematography, video pre & post-production services, photography, audio services, and more across Northeastern Colorado.

If you’re looking for digital marketing solutions, here’s a list of the top five things to look for in a videographer:
Professional product
Take a look at some of the content the production company has made. Do you like the content that the production company is making? Have they made videos in your niche or in the style you are seeking? Remember, quality trumps quantity. If you are impressed with an agency’s portfolio, that’s a good start!
Here are the things to look for when comparing production company portfolios:
Professionalism
In addition to being a skilled videographer, producer, or editor, communication, organization, and timeliness are keys to professionalism in this industry. Creative people are notorious for being unorganized. Hiring a production company that communicates effectively and on time is essential. A production company should be interested in your marketing goals and release strategy, and you, as the customer, should feel like the production company is asking the right questions to get a clear understanding of what you are trying to communicate.
Logistics
Video production involves several moving parts, including idea generation, scripting, storyboarding, hiring talent and crew, acquiring locations and permissions, scheduling throughout the project, making the most of the production budget, controlling timeframes, and much more. An organized production company with systems and processes in place to handle the complexity of your project will give you peace of mind and fewer headaches as you plan, film, and execute your marketing campaign.
You’ve worked hard to develop your brand and image; if a video is produced, it must appear polished. Almost everyone can record a video with only a phone in their pocket. The secret is to work with experienced visual storytellers who are masters at fusing the material together and have a keen sense of what to photograph in the first place. When the people you recruit genuinely care about the project’s success, you can be sure that everything they do will serve your interests.
High standards, budget, and value
Realistic expectations about the budget required to produce a video that wows will encourage your production company to be more original and imaginative with your video projects.
Customers need to understand that you are not just paying for a finished product. You are paying for the professionals involved in planning, scripting, filming, and editing and the cost associated with the equipment needed to produce your product. A production company is a business, not just a guy with a camera.
It is common for video productions to cost more than $1000 per finished minute.
Quality video production is costly for several reasons. First, a lot of time, energy, and attention to detail go into the planning phase of video production. That pre-production planning guarantees a consistently good quality product that aligns with your goals, time and time again. Of course, the necessary equipment for video production carries a significant cost – cameras, lenses, computers, lighting, and media management costs tens of thousands of dollars. Depending on the needed production level, additional equipment, props, costumes, special effects, and rentals also greatly impact the overall production budget. The cost increases if the video is broadcasted on local or national television. The cost of licensing music and hiring talent goes up. The production and post-production phases will also be impacted due to additional steps needed to prepare a video properly for broadcast standards (which may be different based on different networks).
Marketing campaign strategy
Too many businesses lack the understanding that having a great video doesn’t mean people are instantly going to see it and are shocked that they are not an overnight success after posting their video on an unoptimized YouTube account with no strategy.
Clients need to understand the importance of developing a marketing campaign, pre-release, release, and post-release strategy for each platform they intend to release their video.
Certain videos require less strategy than others, but notice this critical step! A great video will offer little return on investment if no one sees it! Working with a production business that knows about creating content for a certain audience, distribution channel, and purpose is essential.
Not all content creation for platforms is the same. For instance, Studies show that 85% of Facebook videos are watched silently. Instagram Reels or TikToks’ should be filmed with “Vertical” framing in mind. Your approach to grabbing the viewer’s attention will shift based on the end-use platform. In this case, one size does not fit all. Does the video production firm help you plan the creation of your video to help deliver outcomes, or does it just provide what you request? Has the production team worked with marketing teams before? Make sure to choose a production business that is a good fit for creating the ideal video approach.

]]>I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
While growing up in Colorado, I would constantly write songs, and I dreamed of being a musician and songwriter. Like many aspiring artists, I had very little money and resources, which forced me to learn how to record my own music and create content to market my projects.
Many of my early videos were recorded on a Sony Vloggie, as even cell phone cameras weren’t of high enough quality at the time. While I didn’t have a lot of high quality production equipment at the time, I had creativity, vision, and drive. It was out of necessity that I developed many of the quintessential production and editing skills that I now use on a daily basis here at Heroic Media Studio.
Going All In!
I followed my love for music to Belmont University where I earned a Music Business Administration (BBA) degree with an emphasis in Audio Production. Years later, I moved back to my home, Colorado. While struggling to find fulfilling job opportunities that utilized my creative musical abilities, a friend recommended I purchase a legitimate camera and further develop my video skills. This piece of advice inspired me to combine all my skillsets I’d developed over the past two decades and start a video production company.
Since officially launching HEROIC MEDIA STUDIO in 2020, HMS has worked with a variety of companies including Black Rifle Coffee Company, HGTV, ITV America, The Robert Irvine Foundation, and more. These experiences have enhanced my vision for combining compelling storytelling, effective communication, and high-quality visuals. I’m proud that my company is able to bring our services to Northeastern Colorado. It’s enabled me to empower small businesses, creators, and organizations needing content for special events.
Value Add
I believe in artistic value and its potential to produce Return On Investment (ROI) for businesses. At the same time, I believe in doing what is right and aim to provide reasonable prices, as I believe every voice deserves to be heard.
Positive Attitude
I attribute my success to my work ethic and positive attitude. I constantly question how to become the best version of myself personally and professionally.
The most satisfying moment in business was when I realized that I could truly make a living doing creative work. My work also overlaps with activities that I could previously only pursue in my free time, which is a blessing.
When I’m not behind a camera, I constantly watch tech/production videos and try to increase my knowledge. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and our two fur babies, Indi and Milo. In addition, I like lifting weights, playing volleyball, participating in community theater, and writing/recording music.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
If you or someone you know could benefit from my expertise as a videographer/photographer in Fort Morgan, Colorado, I invite you to contact me. Please call (970) 768-2668 or email info@heroicmediastudio.com.
Sincerely,
Matthew
